Bulldog Baby

A Bulldog baby should be obtained from a responsible breeder only, even if you are not going to show or breed it. The first weeks of the puppy’s life are very important, so the choice of a breeder should be deliberate and not influenced by emotions. You should understand clearly what kind of a dog you need and look for the most suited puppy.

Any Bulldog baby is affectionate and cute, but not all of them will become good companions and obedient pets. Firstly, the progress of the dog depends on its pedigree and the efforts of the breeder. A conscientious breeder screens all the breeding stock to choose healthy and stable sires and dams free from hereditary disorders. It guarantees health, longevity, and trainability of a puppy. Secondly, the owner is responsible for the development of the puppy. If the owner cannot give a puppy early socialization and proper training, it will be difficult to live with.

When buying a Bulldog baby, it’s essential to visit the kennel and talk to the breeder in person. Feel free to ask the breeder many questions and be ready that you will be asked lots of questions too. Ask the breeder about his/her experience with Bulldogs, whether or not dogs from the kennel are shown, and about typical problems in the bloodline. Ask for the written proof that both parents of the puppy were checked for hip dysplasia and other hereditary defects. The breeder will ask you about your dog ownership experience, living conditions, and family members. True breeders are always interested in the future life of their dogs.

Though Bulldogs don’t need much exercise, their care requirements are rather high. They need regular brushing to reduce shedding. Their wrinkles, ears, and eyes should be cleaned regularly. When it’s cold, Bulldogs need sweaters; when it’s hot, they should not be exercised or should not be taken out at all. Bulldogs thrive on attention and should not be left alone for long. They bond closely to the whole family. Adult Bulldogs tend to slobber, drool, and snore, but a housebroken Bulldog baby is very clean.
